Covert Existence - Just Released by M.O. Kenyan
Today's guest is my author friend M.O. Kenyan, whose newest release, Covert Existence has just been released this week. Welcome, my friend! Thank you for dropping by for a chat.
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
My favorite female character has to be from my book DENOUEMENT, she is just as lost as I feel sometimes. Like her I wish I could compose my life story, set a path and follow it to the end. I get lost in the darkness sometimes and that is Marietta Parks. I would love to know what comes tomorrow. But God did not intend for us to take shortcuts.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
Start small, start big. But whatever you do keep true to yourself. Do not let anyone compromise your story. It is your story and only you can tell it.
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
I am in school, studying communications. But I know that telling stories would have always been part of me. I have too many daydreams to bottle up inside. I want to write a script one day and have everyone see my story the way I saw it in my head, but in their own way.
Charlie Montgomery has always wanted to emerge from her father and her fiancĂ©’s shadow. Her desperation surpasses her need for love and family. When a chance comes up to further her career she takes it. The timing is terrible, Reece Morgan has just proposed and they are planning a life together. Charlie infiltrates a mob family with terrorist ties. Three months later she discovers she is pregnant. But she already has her career booster in her hands and can’t bear to lose it. Charlie does the unforgivable; she hides the baby from its father, Reece Morgan and tells the mob boss, Alexander Corisi that he is the father of her baby.
Six years later after waking up alone, on what should have been the best morning of his life, Reece Morgan finds himself in a case tied to Charlie’s father, General Charles Montgomery. Standing in the same room as the man who was supposed to be his father in law is too much for Reece to bear and his animosity shows. Reece now has to bite the bullet and accept a protection assignment of a little girl living in the General’s house. Barely an hour after he has custody of the girl, she is kidnapped. But the circus of events does not end there as Charlie returns home.
Charlie now has to get help from Reece without letting him know that he has a daughter. But there are so many issues between them that make working together a difficult chore. The danger surrounding them seems to have a protective effect on Reece as he begins to treat Charlie as if she had never left. But his sweet nature soon disappears when he finds out the little girl strapped to a bomb is his daughter.
Reece and Charlie are able to save their daughter, and in the end he asks her to marry him again. This time he doesn’t give her an opportunity to say no.
Marietta Parks believes that the only way to stop surprises from happening in life is to control your own fate. Paying attention to every detail she scripts out her own life. Leaving love, romance and children out of it. But then she meets a man who just has to be added into her story, Tobias Harden was the man of everyone’s dreams but t her he was a lovely addition to her already scripted life.
Tobias Harden was the modern day Casanova. Love was not in his vocabulary, and he was allergic to the word commitment, like poison Ivy to the bare skin. A chance kiss with Marietta Parks makes him question his single life. He was to be the best for her, and oddly enough she happens to be the only woman he wants to kiss. Tobias convinces Marietta that she needs him in her life. But after three years of marriage and life’s obstacles, he finds himself in bed with another woman. He has to convince her that he is still the man for her, especially now that she’s pregnant.

1.Before we start
talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about
yourself?
I am a daughter, a sister and a lover of life.
2. Besides
writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Basketball, music and watching series. Right now I am watching One
Tree Hill. I love the Nailey romance.
3. What is your
daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
When I get an idea I write it down on my note book. I build up on the
idea until I am ready to write the story. I have learnt that rushing into a
premature concept, doesn’t help. It only stalls the progress of the story.
4. Where do you
get your ideas from?
From life. I think every author just writes about life in their own
way. Sure, not everyone will have some wisdom or life lessons. But we write both
what we know and what we don’t know. Its basically life and for a few days,
weeks or months we are our characters, experiencing life through them.
5. Out of all of
the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
I think my favorite is yet to come. But right now the story closest to my heart is Covert Existence, released on the 9th of July.
6.Tell us
something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
I am a bit out there. People who don’t know me say that I am quiet.
People who do, know that in my mind there is a mouse on a wheel.
7. Are any of
the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or are they basically just
from imagination?
Life experiences. Even if its fantasy, I believe including something
that happened brings it closer to reality. Even if its just a paragraph, scene
of chapter. If my readers read all my books back to back, I think they could
probably piece together an important moment in my life.
8. Does your
‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
My muse is the world, life and the mouse in my head.
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would
you like to venture into writing?
I don’t think I would change genre. Romance is my thing. Maybe when I
fall in love I’ll write about something
I don’t have at the time, a G-5. But I would love to write a script.
10. Who are your
favorite authors that are out now?
Jamallah, M.J Kane, Delaney Diamond, Stephanie Meyers and I have to
include the person or people who wrote the One Tree Hill story. I won’t get
into depth with that, but you can read about it on my blog www.mokauthor.wordpress.com. Basically I
love how they developed one character in particular. He is the father that I
always wanted, the boyfriend that I never had and the husband God has planned
for me. Every OTH fan loves Nathan Scott.
Male character has to be Reece Morgan from my 9th July
release COVERT EXISTENCE. He is forgiving and gracious. He falls in love and
holds on to that love. He is hopeful even though the girl he wishes to spend
the rest of his life with disappears. He knows what true love looks like.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
I don’t think I have reached that stage yet, where I find writing
about something difficult. That requires a piece of yourself, a piece of your
reality. I don’t think I have matured yet, emotionally to get to that point.
That is why I hold out on writing some projects, scripts and books, that I
really want to start. When I get there everyone will know it. It will be my
favorite story.
Well now that we
got the questions and answers out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your
latest story you have out now?
Covert Existence

Marilyn Monroe - What She Knew
I am thrilled to have as my guests today two fantastic authors and researchers who have penned Fateful Night, Bool 1 of the What She Knew Trilogy and have nearly completed Book 2, Darkest Day. Marilyn Monroe was a legend in her day, but the many rumors and accusations concerning her untimely death have propelled her into the super-legend category in death. What do you know about what she might have known concerning activities at the White House and in the United States government?
First, let's meet our authors K. R. Hughes and T. L. Burns.
First, let's meet our authors K. R. Hughes and T. L. Burns.
K. R. Hughes is a native of Amarillo, TX. She has a degree in English, helps with literacy programs, and tutors college students. Hughes has two children, Justin and Kayti. Hughes also has two regency, historical novels, "Treasured Love" and “Lord Tristan’s True Love,” under her pen name Kymber Lee.
T. L. Burns is the foremost researcher and historical guru for the What She Knew Trilogy. Burns and husband Ken have two grown children, Kenny and Deven. Burns is a native of California. She has spent the majority of her adult life working with at-risk kids and adults.
Both authors currently reside in Atlanta, GA where they write and encourage budding authors to follow their dreams. You can connect with them at any of the following social media groups:
Did Marilyn Monroe commit suicide? Did someone get away with an elaborate plot to murder the famous sex goddess? On that “Fateful Night” in August 1962 find out what may have happened to her and why she was killed. Many argue that she was involved in way too many secrets from different factions of the world. She was a smart woman who could play the dumb blonde to attain her stardom yet she unwittingly learned of conspiracy plots and political threats that would not only end her life but that of the current president, John F. Kennedy.
In this fast paced suspense every major player of the early sixties is involved, from the world politicians, to the Rat Pack, to Hollywood, and the mafia. What if Marilyn Monroe had lived and what if what she knew could have saved JFK?
Fact or fiction? What if....
Book Excerpt
July 25, 1962
Joseph Kennedy tapped his finger on the desktop while he listened to the irate woman on the other end of the receiver. When she finally took a breath Joe snagged his chance.
“Now see here! I know it needs to be done, but we must have patience. Marilyn isn’t an easy target.”
“Well then,” the woman insisted, “either you take care of her or I will.”
Joe started to form a reply as the sound of the receiver slamming down and the buzzing of a dial tone droned in his ear. He replaced the instrument in its cradle, scratching his head as he rose from his desk.
“Bunny!”
His secretary poked her head through the doorway.
“Get Sam on the phone.”
Frank stood in the casino holding a beautiful blonde on one arm and tossing dice onto a craps table with the other. Laughing at his roll the woman stepped out of his grasp just as Sam Giancana walked up.
“Beat it doll,” Sam snapped. She stared at him and gave Frank a lingering kiss before she left.
“Looks like you’re losing your touch there, Sam.” Frank grinned as he threw the dice over the line on the table.
Sam snarled. “Never mind about her. We have business to attend to.” As the dice rolled to a stop the crowd clapped, and Frank made a mock bow as the chips were pushed toward him.
“Not now, I’m winning.” Frank gave the neatly folded orange handkerchief in the breast pocket of his tux a pat and winked at the mobster.
“Now.” Sam grabbed Frank by the lapels.
Frank looked down, took hold of Sam’s beefy hand and said, “Hands off the suit.” Gathering up his chips one at a time, Frank said between clenched teeth, “This better be important.” Glaring at Sam, Frank pocketed the chips and followed him out of the Sands.
July 28, 1962
Marilyn sauntered over to her lover, current president, John F. Kennedy and rubbed her leg invitingly against him. “Are you enjoying the party?” she whispered, giving his ear a caressing lick.
Marilyn smiled at Sam as he poured himself another highball and offered one to Frank.
“Mmm hmm, I am now,” Jack mumbled as his lips pressed her ear. He encircled her waist with one arm and pulled her onto his lap.
“Let’s go for a walk, lover, just you and me.” She kissed him long and deep, leaving the heady flavor of her martini tingling on his lips.
“Yes let’s.” He ran his hand up the side of her thigh before he allowed her to stand up.
Frank exchanged a glance with Sam as the couple left the room with arms tucked around each other in a cozy half embrace.

Our authors have granted us a sneak preview into Book 2, Darkest Day, scheduled for publication by the end of summer.
On
the tragic day of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, the nation mourns the loss
of a president who stood for radical change and whose charisma carried him
through the masses with never before seen devotion. Kennedy’s determination to pay the U.S. back
for his good fortune never wavered, with a presidency riddled in strife from
the Cuban Missile Crisis to the Cold War and finally to the Vietnam conflict
nothing was easy for him.
In
this fictional novel, Kennedy isn’t on a world tour or even in Texas in
1963. Instead he is in the Alps
recovering from back surgery, a ruse that he had planned with Bobby, and his
double months in advance of the tour.
With the oval office tapped and the ever present Bobby running
interference there was little likelihood that anyone would realize this was not
the president. In fact, no one did.
Now,
the world believes they’re beloved president is dead, there is no going back
for Jack. While the decisions are difficult,
it is far better to leave his ‘death’ alone than to risk political failure for
his family clan and ridicule for his young widow.
Kennedy must now take on another face, name,
and identity. Who is behind the
assassination? What was the ultimate goal in killing the president? Was it to topple
the American government and take down the Kennedy’s with it? Find out in this
action packed conspiracy novel.

Guest Post:
Juliette Hill’s Guest Post for the A CLUE FOR ADRIANNA Blog
Tour 2013
A
Clue for Adrianna, recently released by Annie Acorn Publishing
LLC, is the first novel in the contemporary romantic woman’s fiction series
Captain’s Point Stories that I am writing in collaboration with writer and
publisher, Annie Acorn under our pseudonym Charlotte Kent. The pseudonym celebrates our efforts and sets
them apart from our individual work as Juliette Hill and Annie Acorn. Our
collaboration has been smooth, exciting and rewarding, as well as lots and lots
of fun!
It all began back in January when Annie and I were
discussing upcoming WIPs for the year. She offered me the opportunity to work
with her on a romance series that she had been thinking about writing for years,
but was still fluid in her mind. I
always intended to start a series of my own at some point. Who would have imagined that, in approximately
90 days, we would have written, edited and published our first full-length
novel?
The process was amazing, as we’ve truly experienced two
creative minds being better than one, melding our similar writing styles, voices,
and visions. Our individual ideas about setting, characters and plot
development wove seamlessly together, creating a romantic, suspenseful,
contemporary, often humorous, women’s fiction novel. It’s our belief that readers will find
themselves falling in love again as they follow our main character’s journey of
personal growth and discovery of true love!
The fictitious town of Captain’s Point on Maryland’s Eastern
Shore is the setting of our series.
Living in Maryland as we do, Annie and I both have a soft place in our
hearts for the Eastern Shore with the area’s deep roots in history, its
picturesque towns and scenery, friendly residents and, of course, the close
proximity of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. The commerce and lifestyle of the area blend
with our storylines, enhancing their beautiful imagery and larger than life
characters.
A strong cast of characters, who will grow and change
depending upon whatever curve balls life throws at them, are introduced within
the first book. Adrianna Montgomery, the
series’ central character, is a modern young woman who meets a number of
challenges that life throws at her. Doors
close, and she embraces others as they open.
As her character exploded onto the pages, Adrianna guided us through the
episodes of her journey, dictating and influencing our approach to her
interactions with the other main players.
The series, as it’s developing, proudly embraces our
characters’ pasts and heritage while dealing with present day situations and
issues. Storylines highlight Adrianna’s
development of friendships and relationships with the residence of Captain’s
Point and beyond. Serious writing has
already been completed on the next three novels, within which the series merges
our characters business lives with fun, romance, courtship, marriage, children,
friendships, human failures and flaws as well as personal triumphs and
successes.
A Man for Susan, the second novel in the series will be
available August 1, 2013. The future for
our readers is bright indeed as we explore the wonders of Captain’s Point
together!

Soul Connections, Book IV of the Dacque Chronicles - Regression Excerpt
“I would now
like you to travel back further in time to when you were just a small baby,
then keep going back further to before you were born, and now picture yourself
in a tunnel. The tunnel is not confining in any way but has lots of room in it,
and it gradually slopes downward. You are slowly sliding down this tunnel, and
at the end of the tunnel you can now see a light. As you slide further and
further along, the light gets brighter and brighter and soon you will reach the
end of the tunnel. When you exit from the tunnel, you will land gently on your
feet in a previous lifetime. Are you out of the tunnel yet?”
“Yes.”
“Please
describe for me what you see.”
“We are in a
courtroom. A man is asking me questions; accusing me of being a witch.”
“Can you
tell me where this courtroom is located?”
“Salem
Village.”
“In what
area is Salem Village located?”
“It is in
the Massachusetts Bay Colony.”
“What year
is this taking place?”
“1693.”
“Are you a
witch?”
“No.”
“Why have
you been accused of being a witch?”
“A neighbor
girl told the local authorities that she often sees me talking to nobody.”
“And that is
a good enough reason to accuse you of being a witch?”
“Apparently.
Over a hundred people have already been accused of being witches in this area.
They hung some of them, already.”

Soul Connections, Book IV of the Dacque Chronicles, Now Published
Dacque
LaRose is a retired high school teacher from Canton, Ohio, who joined the
snowbird migration over ten years earlier, after the passing of his wife
Beverly. He landed in the small city of Anywhere, a popular winter watering
hole for retirees, he presumed originally, by sheer luck, but he now firmly
believes, that it was one of his earliest encounters with Divine Intervention.
To casual acquaintances, Dacque appears to be the proverbial, average, nice old
gentleman, but you cannot always tell the book by its cover. Average he is not.
About
a month after the sad passing of Beverly LaRose, strange events started
occurring in their older family home in Canton. At first, Dacque assumed the
unusual events were just his imagination running wild, due to his grief over
the loss of his beloved, but that misconception vanished quickly, and was
replaced by the belief that the soul, or spirit of Beverly was behind the
unusual events. He was right. The culmination of this series of events occurred
one evening, when Dacque was lounging peacefully in their living room reading a
book. He looked up and saw the spirit of Beverly sitting in her favorite chair,
smiling across the room at him. He will never forget what followed this
surprise visit. Seconds later, as clear as day, Beverly’s spirit said, ‘You
must stop grieving and get on with your life. I am fine. There is no more
pain.’ Beverly’s spirit then disappeared, and the unusual events ceased.
